Grilled Tofu Steaks with Chimichurri Sauce

Ingredients
  

For the tofu:

  • 1 block 14 oz extra-firm tofu
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the chimichurri sauce:

  • 1 cup fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Press tofu for 30 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  • Cut tofu into 4 steaks.
  • Mix olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Marinate tofu in this mixture for 15 minutes.
  • For chimichurri, mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl.
  • Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  • Grill tofu steaks for 4-5 minutes per side until grill marks appear.
  • Serve tofu steaks topped with chimichurri sauce.
